Leadership and community service

Students in Year 11, 12 and 13 are encouraged to take increasingly challenging leadership roles, participate in workshops and become mentors for younger students.

Leadership programmes

Each term students participate in a pastoral breakout session, focussed on tools for leadership, external speakers and activities.

Year 11

Students attend a full day leadership workshop.

Year 12

Students work closely with Year 9's in the House Sisters programme.

Year 13

Students become Peer Tutors, acting as mentors to Year 7 students, and in their roles as class or school prefects.

Preparing for the future

Students are also invited to engage in leadership roles outside of school, including the Wellington City Council Shift Challenge, Massey University Young Women in Leadership, the Global Young Leaders’ Conference and UN Youth Global Development Tour.

Community projects

Students engage in community service as an extension of their studies, furthering their understanding of how their learning connects to the real world.
