Queen's Edge Years 7-9 Extra-Curricular Programme
Queen’s Edge is an exciting after-school extra-curricular programme designed especially for students in Year 7, 8 and 9.
Queen’s Edge courses aim to develop students’ skills, talents and passions, expand their knowledge and world view, cultivate essential life skills and foster a life-long love of learning.
Our tutors are not only passionate practitioners but also leading experts in their fields, dedicated to inspiring and nurturing the next generation of courageous learners at QMC.

TERM 3 2025 - OPEN NOW!
Courses run from Week 2 to Week 8 (week commencing Monday 28 July to week commencing Monday 8 September). Each course has 7 sessions except the Tuesday course, which has 6 sessions this term due to a staff-only day on Tuesday 26 August.

Queen's Feast
Cooking, baking, and experimenting with exotic herbs and spices
Discover bold flavours and global flair with Queen’s Feast! This hands-on course takes students on a culinary adventure—from the basics of mixing, weighing, cooking and baking to experimenting with herbs, spices and international dishes. Along the way, they’ll build practical kitchen skills, grow confidence, and develop creativity and cultural curiosity.
With expert guidance, students will explore diverse ingredients, techniques, tools and kitchen equipment in a fun, supportive environment. Perfect for budding chefs who love to explore, experiment and enjoy food that’s full of flavour!
All ingredients and equipment is provided – just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity.
WHEN: Tuesday 3.45pm-4.45pm
DURATION: Term 3: Week 2 to Week 8 (6 classes – no class on 26 August as Staff only day)

Dancing Queens
Bollywood and Street Latin dance
Get ready to move, groove and shine with Dancing Queens! In this vibrant dance course, students will explore two energetic styles from opposite sides of the globe. With one of our expert instructors, they'll dive into Bollywood and traditional Indian dance - full of rhythm, joy and cultural flair. Then, with another instructor, they’ll step into the expressive world of Street Latin, exploring dynamic dance styles from Latin America like Salsa and Bachata.
Students will boost coordination, fitness, confidence, and creativity, while gaining a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures and traditions. All levels welcome.
Wear comfortable sports clothes and shoes. Bring a water bottle and your best dance energy!

Queen's Workshop
Foamsmithing (creating foam props and costume armour)
Unleash your inner maker with Queen’s Workshop! In this hands-on course, students will explore the world of foamsmithing – crafting props and costume armour from lightweight, versatile EVA foam. They’ll learn to cut, heat-shape, glue, bevel, and paint foam to create wearable pieces worthy of the stage or screen.
Students will develop precision, problem-solving and creativity while building skills in fabrication, finishing techniques and design. With expert guidance, each student will craft unique cosplay props or armour in a supportive and energising space.
Perfect for those who love making, imagining, and bringing bold ideas to life.
All materials provided – just bring your creativity!

- We recommend all students take with them a small snack for afternoon tea and a drink bottle.
- We aim to grow the Queen's Edge programme throughout the year to continue to provide more opportunity for growth and development. Please read the Queen's Edge Terms and Conditions before registering your student's interest.

- Term 1: Courses run from Week 5 to Week 11 (week commencing Monday 24 February to week commencing Monday 7 April). Each course has 7 sessions.
- Term 2: Courses run from Week 2 to Week 8 (week commencing Monday 5 May to week commencing Monday 16 June). Each course has 7 sessions, except courses held on Monday and Tuesday, which have 6 sessions in Term 2.
- Term 3: Courses run from Week 2 to Week 8 (week commencing Monday 28 July to week commencing Monday 8 September). Each course has 7 sessions.
- Term 4: Courses run from Week 2 to Week 8 (week commencing Monday 13 October to week commencing Monday 24 November). Each course has 7 sessions.
About charges and refunds
- All Queen's Edge courses are charged per term to your QMC Account. Our booking system, Trybooking, will list the event as ‘free’, this is because the fee will not be taken by Trybooking, but instead charged to your QMC Account.
- In order to cover the upfront costs associated with conducting the Queen's Edge programme and courses, refunds are not available if a student is not able to attend any of the days.
