International experiences
As an IB World School, we have established relationships with a number of schools around the world. Throughout the year students
are offered opportunities to travel abroad and host billets. These experiences expand perspectives and further our understanding of what it means to participate in a global community.
Exchanges
International exchanges enable language development, and invite students to learn about new cultures and engage in new communities. Girls are billeted with host families, with the expectation that they will host a student from the partner school in return.
Partnerships
We have partnerships with 10 schools around the world. These schools are situated in Australia, China, Chile, France, Japan and the USA.
Leadership Courses
Students are offered international opportunities at the Global Leaders Conference hosted in China, Europe and the USA and the Student Leadership Conference in Australia.
Make a Difference in Thailand
In the July 2024 school holidays, QMC will be taking a group of 9–15 students to Mae Sot, Thailand to experience hands-on clinical work. Students will be helping to improve healthcare outcomes for displaced and disadvantaged communities. The dates are 5–18 July 2024 approximately (flights dependent). Prior to going there will be a programme run from school, teaching students to facilitate several medical interventions and screening processes as well as important cultural training.
From the minute the plane touches down in Thailand, the organisation GPSA, will take exceptional care of us. They know the area and will arrange transfers, accommodation, meals, activities, and the service work. Click here for a comprehensive itinerary available.
If you are interested, please email bee.laing@qmc.school.nz, for more information, we hope to start fundraising for this experience of a lifetime shortly so don’t procrastinate.
Join our global community and experience something new.
