Join QMC as we showcase our brand new series 'Fireside Chats', brought to by the Old Girls' Association and the Alumnae Office.
The series focuses on celebrating the local and international successes of QMC Old Girls, offering the opportunity for current students to connect and learn from those who came before them. It's a chance to inform and inspire the future leaders at QMC and prepare them for what comes after school, while enjoying the long term connection with our Old Girl community.

Fireside Chats Featuring: Hilary Barry (Leaving Class of '87)
Hilary attended QMC from 1980-1987 where she graduated as the head prefect, she was highly engaged in school life, being a part of the cricket team, debate team, school musicals and the golf team, winning music awards and showing her devotion to Glamis! Today, Hilary is a New Zealand journalist and television personality who co-hosts Seven Sharp with Jeremy Wells on TV1. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics at Victoria University and a Certificate of Journalism before starting her journalism career as a TV3 news reporter in 1993. She was a newsreader on TV3 for many years and also presented the 6pm Newshub show. Throughout her career, she has won various accolades for her work, including the Best News Presenter Award at the 2011 Aotearoa Film and Television Awards and 'Favourite TV Personality' in 2020. We were thrilled to interview her and hear all about her accomplishments after QMC!

Fireside Chats Featuring: Sarah Novak (Leavin Class of '12)
Sarah started at QMC in Year 9 in 2008, finishing in 2012! During her time at QMC she found her love of knowledge and went on to win prizes every year for Technology, English and Literature. Today, Sarah is an Investment Executive at MORRISON with an impressive track record. Class of 2008, she left in 2012 with the IB Top Scholar Award upon achieving a 40. Prior to her current role, she held positions at Deloitte Consulting and the Boston Consulting Group. Sarah holds a Master's degree from University of Oxford in Environmental Change and Management, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Yale-NUS College in Singapore in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
