Queen Margaret College encourages exchanges which foster language development and global citizenship.
Language Centred Exchanges
For Middle School French students, there are individual and group exchanges to Tahiti and Noumea. For senior French students, there are individual language exchanges with families in France. We regularly have two or three students who go to France during the December/January holidays.
Along with Scots College, we have initiated a biennial group exchange with Lycee Baudimont, Arras, for senior students of French. We also have a group exchange biennially with St Margaret's, Chile, which is for senior students of Spanish. From 2010, these joint exchanges will run in conjunction with Scots College as they have established a relationship with the Mackay School in Chile (brother school to St Margarets).
For senior students of Japanese, there is a biennial exchange with St Margaret's, Tokyo.
Belonging to the Margaret School network provides opportunities for girls to spend sufficient time in schools in Tappahannock, Virginia and Berwick, Melbourne, to assimilate some of their host school's culture.
Each year prior to begining their duties, our Head Girl and Deputy Head Girl attend the Alliance of Girls Schools Leadership Conference in Australia.
