Queen Margaret College had two groups participating in the Wellington Regional Chamber Music recently. The Queen Margaret Trio, Caitlin McBride, Kendall Tatham and Megan Prentice, performed well and gained invaluable experience. The Provance Trio, Shruti iyer, Shweta Iyer and Jessica Palairet, played outstandingly and were awarded first prize for the Wellington Region. They have also been selected as one of only twelve groups to compete at the National Finals, to be held in Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre in August. This is the first time a group consisting entirely of Queen Margaret College students has made it to the finals. This is an exceptional achievement: over 500 groups enter nationally and this field of music is traditionally strongly dominated by groups from Auckland and Christchurch.
