Queen Margaret College Year 13 student, Shruti Iyer, has been offered not one but two scholarships; $30,000 for Otago University and $50,000 at Auckland University.
Shruti is in her final year of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, a two year pre-university qualification completed in place of NCEA. Shruti who has attended Queen Margaret College since Year 1 will graduate at the end of this year after spending 13 years at the school.
During her time at the College she has accomplished a great deal, most recently she was part of the Queen Margaret College Provence Trio who won the Wellington Regional Chamber Music Competition 2013 and were selected for the National Finals. Shruti is a skilled musician who has also played violin in the New Zealand National Youth Orchestra for the past two years.
In 2013 Shruti also completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award, captained and coached badminton and was part of the Year 13 Prefect leadership team.
